Synthaholics Episode 133: Star Trek Discovery Pilot
On Sunday September 24th 2017 the Star Trek Discovery pilots aired. The new show is finally here! We will be covering both pilot episodes The Vulcan Hello and Battle at the Binary Stars this week on the show. To start of this episode we give general first impressions before getting heavily into spoilers. There is so much great Star Trek to be found here the show has a lot of promise. Together the episodes are defiantly stronger than they were separately. We are very much looking forward to the rest of the season. While Discovery is on we will be covering it each week. Synthaholics Episode 132: Assignment Earth?
Do you remember that time Star Trek did a backdoor pilot back in the second season? David didn’t until Aaron suggested that we watch the original series episode Assignment Earth. This episode centers around this cat named Isis and her human secret agent Gary Seven. The Enterprise some how intercepts their transporter beam while for some strange reason being on a mission to observe 1968. This episode is Star Trek the animated series level of strange! We are thankful there was a letter writing campaign to bring Star Trek back for a third season otherwise this could of been the series finale of the Original Series! This episode has some very fascinating historical events happen close to the episodes release that were hinted at within the episode. Also is Gary Seven a Time Lord? If not then where did he get that Sonic Screwdriver? Pour yourself an extra strong drink it’s about to get weird on your weekly shot of Star Trek!

Synthaholics Episode 130: Kipleigh Brown and James Kerwin return!
This week on Synthaholics guests Kipleigh Brown and James Kerwin return to talk Star Trek Continues. James Kerin directed and wrote the teleplay for the recent Star Trek Continues episode “Embracing the Winds”. Kipleigh Brown plays Smith on Star Trek Continues and she wrote the teleplay for the most recent episode “What Ships Are For”. We found out the cast and crew recently had screenings of “What Ships Are For” at ILM and and Pixar so we got to hear about that. Writing becomes a major topic of the episode and this gets us sidetracked into discussing recent science fiction film! It was an absolute pleasure having Kipleigh and James join us this week, so we hope you enjoy this extra special shot of Star Trek!
